TERMS OF SERVICE

Disclaimer

  • Use of the sauna is at your own risk. We ask that you contact your GP if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna. If any of the below apply to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list) we advise you to seek your GP’s advice;

  • -If you're pregnant

  • -If you've had a heart attack or stroke

  • -If you're taking any medications

  • -If you have cardiovascular conditions, or problems

  • -You have epilepsy

  • -You have asthma or breathing conditions

  • -High or low blood pressure

  • -If you have arterial disease

  • -If you have joint or muscle injury

  • Shoreline Sauna takes no responsibility for the damage or loss of customers’ property. Valuables are left at your own risk. We can not take responsibility for your belongings during your session.

  • If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use.

  • We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears intoxicated, or deemed a risk to health and safety. Refunds will not be offered in this circumstance.

  • If you are running late please let us know within 15 minutes of the booking start time. Beyond this the appointment will be considered a ‘no-show’ and the time may be given to someone else so the sauna is not sitting empty.

  • In the event of a ‘Force Majeure’ we will automatically offer a credit for any cancelled session. Refunds will be offered in exceptional cases on a case by case basis.

  • Please bring drinking water and stay hydrated throughout your session.

Children

  • Children aged 16+ are allowed in Shorelines Community Saunas when accompanied by an adult at a ratio of 1:2 

  • Children aged 7+ are allowed in private hire sessions when accompanied by an adult with a ratio of 2:1

  • Children age 16 or under must never be left alone in the sauna.

  • Children under the age of 7 are sadly not permitted.

  • Children should never be left unattended

  • It is essential that a responsible adult observes how a child's body is responding to the heat and is aware of signs of dizziness, headaches unwellness.

Sauna etiquette and safe behaviour

  • Please enter and exit the sauna with care. 

  • Please remove your shoes before entering. 

  • You must sit on a clean towel.

  • Sauna sessions of no longer than 20 min at a time (Shoreline recommends 5 – 15mins, before going outside to cool down).

  • Keeping access points clear to allow other users to exit safely and swiftly if needed.

  • Be aware that the stove reaches extremely high temperatures and should be treated with respect. Do not touch any part of it.

  • Following Shoreline Sauna’s instructions on how to pour water onto hot rocks.

  • Only pouring the provided ‘sauna water’ on hot rocks. Nothing else.

  • Alcohol and smoking are not allowed in the sauna or external area.

  • Please do not use essential oils in the sauna without permission.

  • The use of essential oils provided by or bought as an add on to your session are used at your own risk.

  • Anyone using the sea or any other body of water as a ‘cold plunge’ does so at their own risk. If you use the sea you should ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures, tides, rip currents and other dangers of a body of water.   • Jewellery (or any metal) should be removed before entering the sauna, to prevent burning.

  • There are large steps to enter the pitch and the sauna itself, we regret that they may not be suitable for everyone.

Weather

  • We reserve the right to cancel bookings at any time due to unsuitable weather conditions. We will contact you to rearrange your booking. Your safety is our first concern.

Cancelation Policy

  • You may reschedule/cancel all appointments up to 48 hrs before the session using the link in your confirmation email. Refunds will be issued subject to a £3 admin fee, (the refund process is unfortunately manual) for private hire bookings. Community Sessions that are cancelled will receive a credit note as standard, if you wish to receive a refund please please email us, we’re happy to do this subject to an admin fee of £3.

    This can take 5-10 days to be issued. 

    If you choose to cancel or reschedule with less than 48hrs notice, your account will not be credited and no refunds given. You are very welcome to transfer your booking to someone else just ensure you have confirmed this to us in advance.

Loyalty card, Packages & Discount voucher terms

  • Package offers are to be used by individuals to book multiple sauna sessions on separate days, within 6 months of purchase. They are not intended for use by multiple people. Misuse of the offer will result in the offer being revoked and no refund given.

  • Discount vouchers (including welcome offer) are one per person per household. They hold no monetary equivalent. Offers can be amended or terminated at any time. On occasion, we offer discounts to specific groups or clubs, in these cases the discount should only be used by the intended recipient, we reserve the right to cancel bookings should discounts be claimed by others. Discounts can not be ‘stacked’ and are not valid for use against gift vouchers purchases or ‘packages’ which are already heavily discounted.

  • River Cottage - 20% discount using code provided in River cottage summer guide email on open or private sauna appointment before 30th August 2023.. One per person per household. No monetary equivalent. Offers can be amended or terminated at any time. 

Gift Card terms

Gift cards can be purchased from our website to redeem a private sauna session (value £80). Gift cards should be used within 12 months of purchase.

Accessibility

We regret that due to the nature of our business (a mobile set up), there are some areas where accessibility may need to be considered. Please be aware that access to the sauna is across a sandy beach and there are large steps to negiotate to access the sauna. We also do not have electric lighting so light in the sauna can be dim.
